About Me
Medical Director
With over 25 years of experience, I am a Director and Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Medical Director of Digital Health at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, one of the nation's leading pediatric hospitals. I deliver high-quality and evidence-based care to children and adults with complex eye conditions, such as pediatric corneal and cataract surgery, pediatric glaucoma, epidemiology, ocular genetics, and concussion assessment.
I am also a recognized leader and innovator in the field of digital health, developing and implementing solutions that improve health outcomes and access for patients and providers. I co-founded the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, a charity that promotes global collaboration and education in ophthalmology. I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and guidelines, and I frequently speak at national and international conferences and workshops. As the Vice Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology for Quality, the Assistant Medical Director for UPMC International, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, my mission is to leverage my expertise and skills to enhance the vision and well-being of children and adults around the world.
